Position Overview The Soldering Technician performs fine, detailed soldering work on connectors, splices, cables, and small components. This role requires steady hands, close attention to detail, and the ability to follow precise instructions, drawings, and quality standards.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 2 years of electro-mechanical assembly or soldering experience.
  • Prior hand soldering experience required ; wire and cable soldering strongly preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret electronic drawings, schematics, and assembly instructions.
  • J-STD-001 or IPC-620 certifications preferred.
  • Strong manual dexterity and ability to perform detailed, repetitive tasks.
  • Willingness to cross-train and assist with various assemblies.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Person due to federal regulations.
  • Availability for overtime, including some Saturdays.
  • Ability to distinguish small component details and colors.
  • Steady hand coordination and comfort using soldering tools.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical hardware (screws, nuts, connectors).
  • Basic computer and math skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with 5S or Lean Manufacturing is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform fine-pitch hand soldering using soldering irons and magnification.
  • Assemble, prep, and solder connectors, sockets, and wires for molding processes.
  • Read and follow drawings, schematics, bills of material, and detailed work instructions.
  • Use hand tools and small power tools for precision mechanical assembly.
  • Inspect parts for quality and perform basic functional testing.
  • Trim or adjust materials to meet electrical and dimensional specifications.
  • Maintain a clean and safe workspace, following all PPE and safety standards.
  • Handle flammable and hazardous materials according to OSHA guidelines.
