POSITION SCOPE AND ORGANIZATIONAL IMPACT Moss' Solar Staff Accountant I is responsible for performing general ledger reconciliations for Moss and other related companies, while maintaining and entering corporate-level journal entries. The Staff Accountant I collaborate across teams to ensure financial integrity and supports financial reporting efforts in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
  • 1-3 years of work experience in Financial Accounting department
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to problem-solve
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
  • Works well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
  • High degree of attention to detail and ability to multi-task

Nice To Haves

  • Construction industry experience is a plus, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Perform general ledger reconciliations for certain accounts/companies
  • Enter and updates corporate related journal entries
  • Maintain and update fixed asset records
  • Update monthly reconciliations
  • Prepare interim financial statements for related companies
  • Assist with year-end external audit and tax returns
  • Respond to inquiries, assist with research as needed, participate in special projects and provide ad-hoc financial analysis
  • Assist in the preparation of division and project budgets, including monitoring variances between budgeted and actual expenditures
  • Conduct monthly closing activities by ensuring all journal entries are posted on time and aligned with the company’s financial close calendar
  • Assist in the management of deposits, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accounts receivables, accruals, and reserves to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements
  • Assisting with monthly review and reclassification of overhead accounts
  • Perform other duties as assigned
