About The Position

Citadel Roofing and Solar is a new company with a team of industry veterans boasting over 30 years of experience and a stellar reputation for service excellence to new construction home builders throughout Northern California. They are seeking a Solar Service Tech to join their growing Solar Operations team. This position is based out of their offices in Vacaville, requiring travel to Vacaville at least once per week, and involves working on projects throughout the Sacramento and Bay Area. The role of the Solar Service Tech is to support the service department in providing excellent customer service and support across a broad range of areas, as the service department needs to be able to meet diverse needs.

Requirements

  • 2 years of experience in solar and/or battery installations
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Organized and self-motivated, able to learn quickly and work well in a team environment
  • Punctual with appointments and deadlines
  • Able to grasp technical concepts and communicate them in an effective manner
  • Strong computer skills
  • Ability to work in extreme environments (example: hot sun, cold, crawl spaces, etc.)
  • Must be willing and able to climb ladders, stairs, work on rooftops and able to work on your feet for long periods of time
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Regular, reliable and predictable attendance
  • Valid state driver’s license
  • Clean driving record (no DUI in the last 5 years)
  • Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment criminal, driving and drug screen

Nice To Haves

  • 1 – 3 years of previous experience in solar or general construction
  • Familiarity with PV plan sets
  • Familiar with OSHA safety rules

Responsibilities

  • Replace old solar equipment with new equipment. Must be familiar with Fronius, SMA, Enphase and Solar Edge inverters as well as Tesla, Franklin and Enphase batteries.
  • Perform detailed inspections of older systems and collect data such a serial numbers and defects to provide to third-party partners.
  • Set up monitoring on new systems to support operations and introduce the service department.
  • Be available and willing to assist operations and sales to make sure customers have a good experience.
  • Troubleshoot and repair issues with PV systems and batteries without supervision. On both residential and commercial systems.
