Solar Installers
About The Position
We are hiring Residential Solar Installers at multiple experience levels to support our expanding installation teams. This is a hands-on, field-based role focused exclusively on residential solar installations, not general labor. Whether you’re newer to solar or a seasoned installer ready for the next step, we align title, responsibilities, and compensation with your experience. The role includes Installer I (Entry Level / Junior Installer), Installer II (Experienced Solar Installer), and Installer III (experienced solar professional ready for advanced technical responsibility and leadership).
Requirements
- 2–3+ years of residential solar installation experience (for Installer II–III)
- Comfortable working on pitched roofs using ladders and fall protection
- Strong mechanical aptitude and experience with hand and power tools
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor throughout the day
- Reliable, safety-focused, and team-oriented mindset
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites
Nice To Haves
- Construction, roofing, or electrical background (preferred for Installer I)
Responsibilities
- Assist with installing residential solar PV systems under supervision (Installer I)
- Support racking assembly, module placement, and site preparation (Installer I)
- Safely use ladders, fall protection, and basic power tools (Installer I)
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site (Installer I)
- Learn installation plans, code requirements, and best practices (Installer I)
- Install rooftop and ground-mounted solar PV systems per engineered plans (Installer II)
- Read and execute layout plans, roof diagrams, and equipment placement (Installer II)
- Install racking, modules, conduit, and assist with wiring (Installer II)
- Identify and help troubleshoot site and install challenges (Installer II)
- Support quality control and mentor Installer I team members (Installer II)
- Lead residential solar installations from start to finish (Installer III)
- Troubleshoot complex roof conditions, layouts, and system issues (Installer III)
- Ensure NEC compliance, AHJ requirements, and inspection readiness (Installer III)
- Serve as a technical resource for the install team (Installer III)
- Train and mentor junior installers (Installer III)
- Support pathway into Senior Installer or advanced technical roles (Installer III)
- Install residential solar PV systems on rooftops and ground mounts (All Levels)
- Follow engineered plans, NEC standards, and local building codes (All Levels)
- Evaluate job sites for safety, structural integrity, and roof conditions (All Levels)
- Capture install photos, site notes, and as-built details (All Levels)
- Maintain clean, professional job sites with a focus on safety and quality (All Levels)
- Meet daily production goals while prioritizing workmanship (All Levels)
