Caterpillar is developing machines with advanced electric drive powertrains. A key part of these powertrains are the controls and software for the motors, generators and powertrain systems. Accurate high speed HIL systems are critical to ensure the controls and software are working properly. As an Electric Drive Controls Verification engineer you will be responsible for developing HIL systems to test the powertrain controls. You will interact with the system designers and controls engineers to develop the HIL models, implement the models on the various HIL platforms and work directly with the software developers to test the software. As part of this team you may also participate in on machine testing at Caterpillar’s proving grounds.
