Software Test Engineer
About The Position
Our client, a leader in the life sciences and diagnostics industry, is looking for Senior Software Test Engineer based in Tucson, AZ. Duration: Long term contract (Possibility of further extension) Location: Tucson, AZ Pay Range : $65/hr on W2 We are seeking a Senior Software Test & Validation Engineer who will serve as the Product Owner for Test, owning the vision, strategy, and execution of the overall testing and validation campaign. This role requires a strategic thought leader who defines howtesting enables product quality and regulatory compliance—not a hands -on tactical tester. The ideal candidate has deep experience testing software integrated with hardwarein regulated environments.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in software testing for hardware -integrated systems
- Proven experience in FDA or FAA regulated environments(medical devices strongly preferred)
- Strong background in verification & validation, system -level testing, and risk -based testing
- Experience operating in Agile / SAFe environmentswith PI planning and backlog ownership
- Excellent communication and technical leadership skills
Responsibilities
- Define Test Strategy & Vision
- Own and drive the end -to -end test and validation strategy, translating customer and regulatory needs into scalable, risk -based test approaches.
- Product Ownership & Backlog Management
- Build, prioritize, and maintain the test backlog, author user stories and acceptance criteria, and coordinate cross -team dependencies in support of PI and iteration planning.
- Acceptance & Delivery Accountability
- Formally accept features and user stories using defined acceptance criteria and Definition of Done, ensuring high -quality, compliant deliverables.
- Leadership & Collaboration
- Lead cross -functional collaboration across engineering, systems, quality, and regulatory teams while advocating for built -in quality and customer -centric design.
- Continuous Improvement
- Participate in and influence Inspect & Adapt events, driving continuous improvement in test effectiveness, coverage, and efficiency.
- Stakeholder Communication
- Represent test and validation outcomes internally and externally, clearly communicating complex technical information to diverse stakeholder audiences.
