About The Position

The COMET contract provides overall management and implementation of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations at NASA's Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida. These tasks will support the International Space Station, Ground Systems Development and Operations, and the Space Launch System, Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle, and Launch Services programs. As a member of the Model Integration team, you will perform as a Model Integrator for the Modeling and Simulation Integrated Product Team (M&S IPT) interfacing with the Simulation Launch Team, System Engineers, Ground System Modelers, and Launch/ Simulation development teams. Under general supervision, the candidate will provide simulation software, integration, and testing support for the M&S IPT's delivered products in an integrated simulation environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) in Engineering or technical equivalent from an accredited institution.

  • Experience with Tier 1/2 support
  • Experience with Linux, Windows, and networked systems
  • Experience working in a CLI environment
  • Experience working with Programmable Logic Controllers
  • Experience with simulation system software
  • Experience with software integration and test
  • Interacting with high-availability servers and virtual environments
  • Excellent technical writing skills are essential
  • Excellent communication, presentation and customer interface skills required
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects
  • Experience in prioritizing and executing in a fast-paced environment with varying requirements and deadlines
  • Personnel are required to be self-motivated, team players familiar with working in a dynamic work environment
  • Must be able to accurately communicate ideas in writing and verbal communication.
  • Must be able to travel to support position requirements. This may include travel to and from customer location, which may involve airline travel. In some cases, accommodations can be made for POV, if necessary.
  • Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.
  • Must comply with all “drug free workplace” requirements as mandated by directives issued by the appropriate federal contracting officer and the company, which requires drug testing for use of illegal drugs by employees in sensitive positions.
  • Government security clearance may be required in the future.
  • Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that fosters good relations with customers, clients, co-workers, and management.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with real-time troubleshooting, anomaly resolution, and system recover as necessary
  • Interface with Simulation Launch Team and System Engineers to capture use cases and demonstrate proper procedures
  • Provide simulation event support that could involve multiple shifts and weekends
  • Limited travel to support sim events at remote site labs
  • Perform other duties as assigned
