Brio Digital is excited to partnered with a scaling US-based FinTech with strong expansion plans in 2026 who are seeking an experienced Software Team Lead to technically lead & line-manage a new product team. As a Software Team Lead, you will thrive in being at the intersection of hands-on development and people leadership . Holding a proven a Software Engineering background with recent experience in technical line management, you'll enjoy building high-quality software while guiding engineers, shaping technical direction, and driving successful project delivery. You will play a key role in creating clarity of goals, enabling cross-team collaboration, and ensuring engineering initiatives are delivered efficiently and at a high standard.

  • Lead and coordinate an engineering team through regular syncs, clear prioritisation, and a strong delivery rhythm.
  • Balance hands-on coding with leadership responsibilities in a supervisory, player-coach role.
  • Mentor and develop engineers through regular 1:1s, constructive feedback, and career guidance.
  • Drive technical excellence through code reviews, architectural input, and best practices in deployment and production support.
  • Own project delivery by defining timelines, breaking down work, and managing competing priorities.
  • Remove blockers and proactively solve problems to keep the team focused and productive.
  • Collaborate closely with Product and stakeholders to align priorities, communicate progress, and manage expectations.
  • Champion documentation and knowledge sharing to strengthen team effectiveness and long-term success.
  • 7+ years of commercial software development experience using Ruby on Rails and React.js.
  • 2+ years in a software engineering line management or team-lead role.
  • Deep understanding and ability to coach modern software engineering practices (TDD, DDD, Clean Code, OOP etc.).
  • Proven ability to balance technical responsibilities (i.e. coding, architectural design) with people leadership.
  • Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
  • Experience mentoring engineers and supporting career growth.
