About The Position

Peraton is seeking a Software Integration & Test Engineer to support Software Integration Test and Check Out (ITCO) activities across a new satellite ground system development program supporting the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). This position will support all Software Engineering activities throughout the full system lifecycle—from architecture and design through integration, assessment, authorization, and operational deployment. The selected candidate will be responsible for supporting the program’s ITCO function. This role requires close collaboration with other program functional elements including Systems Engineering, Cyber, Networks, Infrastructure, Architecture, Operations, Quality and program leadership. Perform system level software integration and test (I&T) activities for Satellite Ground Station Command and Control applications ensuring system compatibility to meet program technical, schedule and cost objectives. This includes the test and integration of COTS-based systems and custom software, from the system design phase through development, documentation, installation, and commissioning of the completed system

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 3 years with MS/MA
  • 9 years of relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a bachelor’s degree
  • Experience with software development methodologies and life cycles; specifications and testing
  • Experience developing tests scripts using Python, Perl, Powershell, Java, C, etc.
  • Experience with RedHat Linux
  • Experience working in a Cloud Environment using containerization
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment
  • Extensive experience with Windows OS and Microsoft Office products
  • Experience with automated testing tools (e.g., Xray, Selenium, Cucumber, etc.)
  • Familiar with the Atlassian tool suite, including Jira, Asset Manager, Confluence, Risk Register, Crucible, Bitbucket, Git, etc.
  • Ability to obtain and hold a Public Trust clearance – US Citizenship is required

Responsibilities

  • Generate test plans and procedures for the verification and validation (V&V) of software components to ensure requirements traceability and test cases to allow requirement V&V
  • Support test readiness reviews, formal system verification of the system requirements and final test reports
  • Organize, execute, and report on software testing
  • Recognize and adopt best practices in documentation, testing and efficient use of resources
  • Utilize RedHat Enterprise Linux to resolve configuration issues and integrate Red Hat Linux systems with other existing environments
  • Create and modify bash scripts
  • Write and edit scripts in Python, Perl, Powershell, Java, C,etc.
  • Utilize JIRA in an Agile development environment
  • Support development and maintenance of automated testing
