As part of that mission, the Microsoft Devices Engineering Service team in Surface is on a journey to create new experiences. A fundamental part of our strategy is having desirable and powerful devices that enable the experiences people want. Creating these new experiences and devices involves a close partnership between hardware engineers, software engineers, designers, and manufacturing along with the various industry partners that closely collaborate to create industry defining firsts. We are currently seeking an initiative-taking Senior Software Engineer with a track-record in design and implementation to join our world class team of software engineers. By becoming a part of our team, you will engage in solving diverse core engineering and strategic challenges, constructing solutions utilizing various backend and front-end technologies, to build a product focused on accelerating Surface product development. Our work culture emphasizes quality, innovation, and cross-group collaboration, providing you with opportunities to develop a broad range of skills and experiences, all while making a direct impact on millions of users. The role will involve designing highly scalable services and experience using technologies like Angular, React, Typescript, .NET Core, ASP.NET Core, Azure Cloud.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Nice To Haves

• 7+ years of experience in developing enterprise grade large scale cloud applications.
• 7+ years of experience in using SQL and/or NoSQL databases and in system design.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills and experience monitoring and improving cloud services.
• Demonstrated proficiency in evolving technologies and collaborating with geographically distributed partner teams and peers.

Responsibilities

• You will be empowered to have ownership for your areas including design, development, testing, and instrumentation. Contributing to the design, building, adaptation, execution, and maintenance of Apps and devices management full-stack solutions in Microsoft Surface.
• Effective collaboration within the Surface organization and with other product groups across Microsoft in the design and implementation of software solutions.
• Design, implement and operate products and features with focus towards modularity, component reuse, performance/reliability in close cooperation with product, design, and engineering teams.
• Own end-to-end service solution, code quality and efficiency.
• Use and promote technologies, tools and engineering practices based on the latest industry trends, market, and user dynamics. Understand product design and architecture, across the full Teams ecosystem.
• Contribute to product vision and roadmap by bringing innovation to server manageability ecosystem
• Building and maintaining data pipelines and platforms that ingest, process, store, and serve large volumes of structured and unstructured data for analysis and reporting purposes.
