About The Position

We're looking for a hands-on, inspiring Software Engineering Manager to lead multiple teams of talented engineers in building scalable, reliable, and high-performance systems. In this role, you'll balance technical depth with people leadership, shaping the future of our engineering culture while delivering impactful, business-critical solutions. You'll spend roughly 50% of your time leading and mentoring engineers, building high-performing teams, guiding architectural direction, and fostering technical excellence, and 50% hands-on, designing systems, writing code, leveraging AI-driven tools, and solving complex challenges. Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's in computer science, engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in software engineering, including 3+ years in technical leadership or management role.
  • Proven experience leading teams building distributed, cloud-native, or large-scale systems.
  • Proficiency in modern languages (e.g., Python, Java, React).
  • Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP, and modern DevOps practices.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and decision-making skills.
  • A track record of aligning engineering execution with business strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Inspire, mentor, and develop engineers through coaching, career growth, and feedback.
  • Build a culture of ownership, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive recruiting, onboarding, and retention of top technical talent.
  • Collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering peers to define technical strategy and deliver on the roadmap.
  • Lead architectural design, code reviews, and best engineering practices across teams.
  • Ensure code quality, scalability, and operational excellence across systems and releases.
  • Translate business goals into actionable, measurable engineering plans.
  • Balance delivery speed with long-term maintainability and technical debt reduction.
  • Monitor key engineering metrics, velocity, quality, performance, and reliability.
  • Evolve engineering processes to improve speed, reliability, and collaboration.
  • Champion agile practices and CI/CD for efficient delivery.
  • Identify and remove bottlenecks across people, systems, and workflows.
