About The Position

Over the course of our 12-week internship experience you will have the opportunity to: Work directly with a mentor in your field of study while finding solutions to real-world problems Experience our products up close by working with one of our Digital Health Technology (DHT) teams Interact directly with company leaders Build a lasting professional network through social events and engaging activities Gain the skills and knowledge to become a future leader in the medical technology industry Let’s Talk About Responsibilities As a Software Engineer Intern, you will work directly with talented engineers of all levels within the Digital Health Technology organization. With guidance from experienced engineers and technical leaders, you will assist in designing, modifying, developing, and implementing software solutions that support ResMed’s connected care platforms. You will also contribute to testing, validation, configuration, creation of operational metrics, and deployment of software applications. The right candidate for this internship is expected to have foundational knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the software development lifecycle and will rely on mentorship, instructions, and established guidelines to perform job functions successfully. This position is preferred to be performed onsite, based on team needs in the San Diego, CA office. Candidates will be asked to participate in in-person and remote team meetings. This position is also open to remote candidates. Employer will not sponsor applicants for employment visa status.

Requirements

  • Ability to work full-time for 12 weeks during Summer 2025; program dates are May 18th – August 7th, 2026, OR June 15th – September 4th, 2026
  • Software development academic studies leading to a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Bioengineering, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • Foundational knowledge of Java
  • Familiarity with basic software development concepts and tools

  • Strong experience demonstrated through academic projects, research, or software engineering internships
  • Great interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment
  • Strong communication skills and a growth-oriented mindset
  • Familiarity with AWS services such as Lambda, API Gateway, S3, SNS/SQS
  • Familiarity with observability tools and metrics (e.g., CloudWatch, Datadog)
  • Experience using AI tools to assist with routine development tasks
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Responsibilities
