Software Engineering Intern
About The Position
Serco is seeking a Software Engineering Intern to join its Wideband Remote Monitoring Sensor (WRMS) team. WRMS is one of several subsystems required to support the Wideband Global SATCOM constellation of satellites which provide communication for all US Armed Forces and its allies. WRMS is the system that provides signal monitoring and characterization of communications services supported by the Defense Satellite Communications System (DSCS), WGS and other United States Department of Defense (DoD), Allied, and Government leased X- and Ka-Band Super High Frequency (SHF) communications satellites. In this position, you will: Assist in the development, testing, and maintenance of software applications. Write clean, efficient code. Debug and troubleshoot software issues. Participate in code reviews. Collaborate with team members on various projects. Contribute to documentation and user guides.
Requirements
- The ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.
- A High School Diploma, be enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering.
- Novice experience with Java and/or C#. Some understanding of one or more of the following will be helpful: Spring Boot microservices, Kafka, RabbitMQ.
- Understanding of the software development lifecycle.
