About The Position

Software Engineering Summer Intern-Device Verification SW Panasonic Avionics Corporation – Irvine, CA Panasonic Avionics takes entertainment to new heights. We’re the world’s leading supplier of (IFEC) in-flight entertainment and communications systems that allow passengers access to live TV, movies, music, interactive games, maps, and much more! The Device Verification Software group is the sole dedicated software organization responsible for developing and sustaining the manufacturing, FAA OEM certification, and diagnostic service software solutions for the Panasonic Avionics In-flight Entertainment (IFE) device portfolio. As a specialized engineering team, we enable device reliability, regulatory compliance, and global operational support through robust tooling and disciplined software practices. We are looking for motivated, driven, and collaborative Software Engineering Interns to join a talented team that conducts research, design and development of software running on Linux to power our latest products. This paid internship will start in May/June and continue through August/September 2026, with an opportunity to potentially continue through the school year. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of any type of employment-based visa at this time. This includes Student Visas

Requirements

  • Current student pursuing a bachelor’s degree who will be a Junior or Senior in Fall 2026
  • Preferably Juniors, Seniors, or Graduate students with an interest in data visualization, system monitoring, or software engineering.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others, take verbal as well as written instructions and communicate instructions as needed.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, both written and verbally to all levels of the organization.
  • Generally, applies existing practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Experience with data pipelines, database management, and server monitoring; knowledge of modern front-end frameworks is a plus for dashboard customization.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work on a full-time basis for any employer in the U.S.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Interns will have an opportunity to work on multiple projects during the internship under the guidance of the Senior Engineers.
  • Interns will learn how to collect, analyze, and visualize server metrics using Grafana dashboards, enabling users to observe system performance without the need for a separate application.
  • Interns will help design meaningful visualizations that highlight trends, patterns, and potential issues, and contribute to improving data-driven decision-making.
  • Through hands-on experience, Interns will gain exposure to monitoring tools, data analysis, and best practices in presenting technical insights clearly to stakeholders
