Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, completed or graduating within the next 4 months
  • Exposure to functional programming concepts through coursework, personal projects, or prior experience
  • Introductory experience with Elixir, Erlang, or similar functional languages (e.g., Haskell, Clojure, F#)
  • Interest in resilient, fault-tolerant system design
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and aptitude for working across disciplines
  • Enjoys debugging and problem solving
  • Interest in distributed systems
  • A strong bias towards understanding how things work rather than accepting the status quo
  • U.S. Citizen and eligible for DoD Secret or TS/SCI clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Elixir and OTP concepts including GenServers, supervision trees, or the Actor model
  • Exposure to databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL
  • Interest in distributed systems, real-time or game engine backends
  • Familiarity with authentication concepts such as OAuth2 or role-based access controls

Responsibilities

  • Support the development of satellite command and control, mission planning, and data processing software systems using Elixir
  • Contribute to team discussions on architecture, design, and code reviews
  • Collaborate with engineers across disciplines to build effective systems
  • Take on well-scoped tasks and features with guidance from senior engineers
