About The Position

We are seeking a Software Engineer with a strong interest in systems integration and event-driven architectures. In this role, you will help design, build, and maintain integrations between Blue Eye’s core platform and a wide range of third-party systems using REST APIs, webhooks, and Azure messaging services. This role is well suited for an engineer who has solid professional experience, enjoys working across system boundaries, and wants to deepen their expertise in cloud-native, real-time platforms.

Requirements

  • 3–6 years of professional software development experience
  • Strong experience with JavaScript / TypeScript and/or C# in production systems
  • Hands-on experience building and consuming REST APIs
  • Experience working with webhook-based integrations or asynchronous event processing
  • Familiarity with automated testing, including Cypress for end-to-end or integration testing
  • Experience working in a cloud environment, preferably Microsoft Azure
  • Solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals, including error handling, retries, and observability
  • Experience using Git and participating in a collaborative, agile development process
  • 3+ years of professional software development experience
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with event-driven or message-based systems (Azure Event Hub, Azure Event Grid, Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.)
  • Experience integrating with third-party SaaS or enterprise systems
  • Exposure to video streaming technologies
  • Familiarity with live video, real-time media pipelines, or streaming protocols
  • Experience designing APIs or event schemas intended for external partners
  • Familiarity with observability tools such as Application Insights, Grafana, or Prometheus
  • Prior experience supporting production systems in a 24×7 environment
  • Ideal candidate will be based near our HQ in Salt Lake City; We are willing to consider remote candidates if qualifications are met

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain integrations with third-party platforms using RESTful APIs and webhooks
  • Implement event-driven services using Azure Event Hub, Azure Event Grid, and related Azure services
  • Develop backend services that ingest, validate, transform, and route real-time event data
  • Work with product, SOC operations, and customer-facing teams to implement integration requirements
  • Implement secure integration patterns including authentication, authorization, and secrets management
  • Write and maintain automated tests, including API and end-to-end tests using Cypress
  • Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, demonstrations, and retrospectives
  • Monitor and support production systems, contributing to incident response and continuous improvement
  • Produce clear technical documentation for integrations and internal services
