About The Position

We are seeking a Software Engineer with strong data engineering expertise to design, build, and optimize scalable data processing systems and backend services. This role blends large-scale data processing, search/indexing technologies, and modern backend development within a cloud-based environment.
The ideal candidate is comfortable working with distributed data systems, developing production-grade APIs, and ensuring high data quality across complex pipelines.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph required.
• Hands-on experience with distributed data processing frameworks (Spark or PySpark).
• Experience implementing search and indexing platforms (SOLR or Elasticsearch).
• Strong backend development experience with Java 8+ and Spring Boot.
• Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Solid understanding of data quality methodologies and data validation techniques.
• Experience working in AWS cloud environments.
• Proficiency in Linux operating systems.
• Familiarity with Git-based version control and Agile workflow

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable data processing pipelines using technologies such as Spark or PySpark.
• Build and optimize distributed search and indexing solutions using SOLR or Elasticsearch.
• Develop backend services and RESTful APIs using Java (8+), Spring Boot, and modern design principles.
• Perform data quality analysis, validation, and transformation to ensure integrity and reliability of datasets.
• Write efficient, maintainable code in Java, Python, JavaScript, and Bash.
• Deploy and maintain backend and data solutions in AWS cloud environments.
• Work within Linux-based systems (e.g., CentOS) for development, testing, and deployment.
• Apply Regular Expressions (RegEx) for parsing, data transformation, and text processing tasks.
• Participate in Agile development processes, leveraging tools such as Jira and GitHub for collaboration and version control.
• Support migration efforts to modern Java versions (transitioning from Java 8 to Java 17).
