What you'll be able to do: Software Engineer - positions offered by Ford Motor Company (Dearborn, Michigan). Note, this is a hybrid position whereby the employee will work both from home and from the Dearborn office. Hence, the employee must live within a reasonable commuting distance from Dearborn, MI. Work on an empowered software delivery team responsible for Ford’s Rewards Program and Dealer Member Portal. Design, develop, and implement high-quality, reusable, and testable code that adheres to industry best practices and standards. Actively review code to ensure the software quality and functional accuracy is maintained across the team. Learn the design and architecture of the product and participate in ceremonies that can influence both. Collaborate with cross-functional team members, including Product Managers, Architects, DevOps, and Engineering Delivery Managers, to design and develop a scalable platform. Establish monitoring to ensure application is meeting performance metrics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
  • 5 years of experience with each of the following skills is required: 1. Java, open-source technologies and hands on experience in micro services using Java 11 and Java 17 Java concepts. 2. Spring boot and Spring cloud frameworks. 3. Refactor API/services for simplification and efficiency.
  • 2 years of experience with each of the following skills is required: 1. DevOps tools including GitHub, SonarCube, CheckMarx, and FOSSA to deploy, improve and manage software. 2. Infrastructure as code: Terraform. 3. Utilizing GCP products including at least 3 of the following: Cloud run, Cloud Data fusion, Apigee, or Cloud pub-sub.

Responsibilities
