About The Position

The Lockwood Group supports a C5ISR hardware and software program for a U.S. Army customer located at Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG), MD. This effort provides engineering, integration, and lifecycle support for mission-critical command, control, communications, computers, cyber, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (C5ISR) systems. The program supports the development, modernization, and sustainment of tactical network and mission systems to ensure operational effectiveness and technological advantage. The Software Engineer will support the development, integration, and sustainment of software components within C5ISR hardware and software systems. This position contributes to engineering activities across the system lifecycle, including design support, implementation, testing, and technical documentation. The role requires experience supporting DoD weapon systems development environments and the ability to operate within structured acquisition and engineering processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience
  • Minimum 5 years supporting the Department of Defense contracting market in major weapon systems product development and acquisition programs
  • Experience supporting software development within structured engineering environments
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Active DoD Secret clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting C5ISR or tactical network systems
  • Familiarity with Army acquisition lifecycle processes
  • Experience supporting integration or test events
  • Experience supporting programs at Aberdeen Proving Ground

Responsibilities

  • Support software engineering activities across system design, development, and integration efforts
  • Assist in translating system and user requirements into software solutions
  • Contribute to software implementation, testing, and validation activities
  • Support troubleshooting and resolution of system-level software issues
  • Participate in configuration management and technical documentation efforts
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure alignment across hardware and software components
