About The Position

The Engineer in this role will be supporting DIA customers in the maintenance, functionality, and sustainment of Zero Trust Environments. This support will include, but is not limited to, working in a DevOps environment to support the research into existing software applications required for integration, the refactoring of existing software applications to enable functionality and access from a cloud-based architecture, and the development of new web-based applications and microservices as requested by the customer. This support, ultimately, is designed to ensure critical software applications are capable of continuing to support success within a secure cloud-based architecture.

Requirements

  • Must possess an active Top Secret clearance (SCI eligible)
  • Minimum of five plus years of software development experience
  • Extensive coding experience in the following:
  • Programming Languages & Technologies to include:
  • Proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript
  • HTML5, CSS3 (SASS/LESS)
  • React.js, Angular, or Vue.js (with emphasis on React for UI modernization)
  • Server-side languages: Node.js, Java, Python, PHP, or C#
  • RESTful APIs and Web Services integration
  • Database Experience to include:
  • SQL-based databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle, MS SQL Server)
  • Familiarity with NoSQL solutions (MongoDB, Redis) for migration contexts
  • Version Control & Collaboration Tools to include:
  • Git, GitHub/GitLab/Bitbucket
  • Jira or Azure DevOps for issue tracking and Agile processes
  • Legacy System Integration to include:
  • Experience migrating or modernizing legacy applications
  • Ability to read, understand, and refactor existing legacy codebases
  • Knowledge of legacy technologies (e.g., older Java EE applications, ColdFusion, Classic ASP)
  • DevOps & CI/CD to include:
  • CI/CD practices using Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps pipelines
  • Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Ansible)
  • Cloud & Infrastructure to include:
  • AWS GovCloud, Azure Government, or other FedRAMP-compliant cloud platforms
  • Hybrid cloud deployments, cloud migration strategies
  • Understanding of networking, virtualization, and storage concepts
  • Must currently hold a DoDM 8140.03 IAT II certification (SSCP or Security+ CE with appropriate CE/OS certificate) or be able to obtain within six months

  • Bachelor's degree in relative technical discipline
  • Prior experience working on ODEN

Responsibilities

  • Understanding user requirements and strategizing software solutions
  • Supporting development of applications and capabilities within Zero Trust Environments
  • Updating and refactoring existing/legacy software applications into web-based applications
  • Creating and optimizing in-application SQL statements and back-end access from other application
  • Ensuring performance, security, and availability of databases
  • Profiling server resource usage and optimizing as necessary
  • Participating in code reviews and contributing to architectural decisions
