About The Position

Toyon is seeking highly qualified Software Engineer candidates to develop software in the Python or C++ languages in support of Artificial Intelligence (AI) / Machine Learning (ML) applications. Our software engineers work closely with our researchers and customers to create state-of-the-art solutions.

Requirements

U.S. Citizenship Required.
Ability to qualify for a US Department of Defense security clearance required.
This position is in-person.
Candidates for the Software Engineer position must have a strong background in engineering, computer science, physics, and/or mathematics.
A minimum of an MS degree with some industry experience or a BS degree and at least two years of industry experience is required.
Experience with software architecture and design
Experience with software development in a team environment using version control tools
Experience with Docker is required.

Nice To Haves

An MS degree with at least two years of industry experience or a BS degree with at least four years of industry experience is desired.
Experience mentoring junior developers and experience with Kubernetes is highly desired.
Experience with Reinforcement Learning (RL), Large Language Models (LLMs), Computer Vision, other AI/ML techniques, or video or signal processing is a plus.
Candidates should possess strong math and physics knowledge to enable developing advanced AI/ML software to solve sensor data processing or control problems.

The annual pay range for the Software Engineer position is $120,000 to $200,000.
