JOB SUMMARY: The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications Experimentation Laboratory (C2BMC X-Lab) is a very fast paced and dynamic environment. The X-Lab is responsible for developing and integrating future-capability prototypes for the Missile Defense System, including Sensor/Weapon Integration, Algorithm Development, User Interface Development and other critical leading-edge missile defense technologies. The Software Engineer's primary responsibility is to work as a mid-level member of the X-Lab software development team to develop and test innovative solutions in support of X-Lab projects and experiments. This position is located full-time on site at the Missile Defense Integration and Operations Center (MDIOC) located on Schriever SFB, CO, and is not a remote work position. Some work is required at Hwy 83 facility. Non-standard work hours are likely during event execution.

Requirements

  • Career level typically with an advanced degree and 3+ years experience or bachelors with 5+ years experience or equivalent; wide application of principles, theories, and concepts in their field and provides solutions to a wide range of difficult problems with imaginative and thorough solutions; works under general direction, and results are reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives; failure to achieve results normally results in serious program delays and considerable expenditure of resources; frequent internal and external customer contacts and represents the organization in providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects.
  • Experience with Java and spring framework.
  • Experience with the Linux environment.
  • Experience in the use of software test and analysis tools.
  • Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Full-cycle software engineering of new capabilities
  • Basic Systems Engineering understanding to drive software design
  • Software development with Java (or other object-oriented language)
  • Object-Oriented development principles and patterns
  • Generate detailed and repeatable tests
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Must possess an understanding of Agile software development processes and principles and be able to communicate the desired capabilities to a diverse group of developers, engineers, subject matter experts, and system users
  • Should be comfortable with rapidly changing requirements, design challenges that require novel solutions, fast-paced activities, and tight deadlines.
  • Application deployment, integration, and troubleshooting
  • Operating systems experience with Windows & Unix/Linux
  • Experience with the following: Eclipse IDE, Maven, and Git/GitLab, Python, Ansible
  • Secret Clearance
  • DOD 8570 REQUIREMENT: IAT - Levell II

Nice To Haves

  • Top Secret/SCI is preferred
