Job Description: T5 Program Summary: The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) awarded the Technical Support Services Contract 5 (T5) to Parsons in April 2023. Parsons is the prime contractor. This $1.8+ billion contract has a 4-year base period with two 3-year options. The statement of work includes a variety of activities that support the FAA’s Capital Investment Plan (CIP) and certain reimbursable programs, the FAA NextGen Program, national security programs and aviation safety. Specifically, work includes site selection and engineering, construction, environmental and fire/life safety, equipment installation and testing, drafting, contract surveillance, and other technical services as required. Work is performed across the nation in each of the FAA’s nine regions as well as the Aeronautical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and the Technical Center in Atlantic City, New Jersey and in several U.S. territories. An average staff of 500 with a peak staff over 650 supports this contract, in addition to those subcontractors who perform construction work. Our team is looking for a senior software engineer with experience developing application software to create enterprise solutions that can work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. In this position, you will be a member of a growing Agile team supporting the development of critical mission applications for the T5 Program.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or an engineering field with at least 10 years technical experience. Relevant experience may be accepted in place of a degree.
  • Experience designing, developing, and supporting mission applications
  • Fundamental understanding of computer systems and networking (e.g. IP, TCP, and HTTP)
  • Advanced knowledge in object-oriented analysis and design techniques
  • Web application development (e.g., HTML/CSS, JavaScript, C#)
  • Experience working with C#, VB.Net, Entity Framework, AJAX, Razor, MVC
  • Experience developing web services (e.g., RESTful, SOAP) and related data formats (e.g., JSON, JSON-P, XML)
  • Relational database development (SQL)
  • Experience with collaborative development tools (e.g., Jira, Bitbucket, Visual Studio)
  • Comfortable with version control concepts and tools like Git
  • Familiarity with agile development principles and practices (SAFe, JIRA)
  • Great interpersonal and communications skills, while establishing and maintaining effective work relationships with team members
  • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, flexible environment, and take the initiative to learn new tools and concepts quickly.
  • Strong communication skills, in both spoken and written English
  • Must be able to meet customer security requirements. A background check by Federal Authorities will be performed.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Git branching/code review models.
  • Experience working with Telerik .NET and Kendo UI JavaScript components, Embedded Reporting and productivity tools.

Responsibilities
