About The Position

Torch Technologies is seeking a Software Engineer, Senior to join the team. Torch Technologies is a 100% employee-owned business dedicated to providing superior research, development, and engineering services to the Department of Defense. As defense contractors, the services we provide directly support the warfighter. This position is located at Hill AFB, UT. As a Software Engineer, Senior, your duties will include the following, but are not limited to: · Perform work that applies to a broad theoretical and practical knowledge of software engineering to include, but is not limited to reviewing, preparing, and analyzing all types of documentation; planning, requirements, design, V/V, support and test. This also includes source code, configuration files and engineering resolution support. · Determine operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions. · Document and demonstrate solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code. · Improve operations by conducting systems analysis, recommending changes in policies and procedures. · Obtain information to license software from vendors; recommend purchases; test and approve products. · Provide information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing development and service issues; accomplish engineering and organization mission by completing related results as needed. · Perform Software Quality Assurance (SQA) to ensure that developed software meets and complies with defined or standardized quality specifications. · Work as a member of an Agile software development team. · Develop software in a dynamic environment using the Agile (Scrum) framework using a variety of languages to include C#, Java, JavaScript, HTML 5, and SQL. · Support implementation and execution of Agile software development processes in concert with Government and weapon system prime contractors and suppliers. · Elaborate high level feature/function descriptions into detailed technical designs and tasks, in collaboration with users (from Lead Command or operating units) and Government lead engineers. · Perform coding tasks for features/functions; perform coding tasks for functional and performance tests for features/functions. · Perform peer design and code reviews with other team members. · Perform coding/scripting tasks for software build, packaging, and deployment. · Perform other software engineering and documentation tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Bachelor’s degree with individual research development plus 15 years related experience
  • OR Master’s with individual research development plus 10 years related experience
  • OR PhD with individual research development plus 5 years related experience
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret DoD Clearance.
  • In addition to the requirements in 3.5, the Contractor shall have credentials and qualifications as outlined in the Work Role Qualification Matrix, DoD 8140 Foundational Qualifications Options, for performance of this work.
  • Apply the provisions outlined in AFI 17-130, Cybersecurity Program Management, (13 Feb 2020), AFMAN 17-1303 (12 May 2020), and DoD Manual 8140.03 Cyberspace Workforce Qualification and Management Program (15 Feb 2023) – Section 3: Cyberspace Workforce Structure and Qualifications Program.
