We are seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to join our Military Aircraft Team. You will develop and verify software for flight critical components. Reporting to an Engineering Manager, you can choose a 9/80 work schedule with a hybrid work option (3 days/week in the office) in Torrance, CA. As an Embedded Software Engineer, you will:

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or other technical discipline, preferably Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or similar.
  • 3+ yrs of experience in embedded software engineering.
  • Proficient in the C programming language for embedded software development.
  • Familiarity with real-time operating systems (RTOS), device drivers, and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing.
  • This position requires access to United States export-controlled information.
  • The ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with DO-178 Level A Development and Verification activities.
  • Experience or internship in the aerospace/defense industry.
  • Experience in a Test/Development Lab environment.
  • Familiarity with Python, MATLAB/Simulink, or similar tools.
  • OS experience, especially RTOS (bare metal a plus).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement embedded software for use in real-time aircraft control systems.
  • Perform software integration and verification activities using both real and simulated hardware in system level testing.
  • Maintain and support software in the target environment, including debugging and corrective updates.
  • Collaborate on requirements and system design, authoring and refining software requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement by keeping up to date with technology and process improvements that increase accuracy, reliability, or reduce cost.
  • Domestic travel may be required as needed (up to 5%)
