What We're Doing We are seeking a Software Engineering Staff to join our team in Owego, NY, supporting the full product lifecycle of avionics subsystems. You will play a key role in translating customer requirements into technical solutions, defining software/hardware interfaces, verifying requirements, and integrating safety-critical systems. This role supports the design and certification of embedded mission software for use in modern defense platforms. The Work As a Software Engineering Staff, you’ll oversee the development of embedded software for mission and communication systems. You’ll collaborate across engineering disciplines to develop C/C++ applications, integrate algorithms, and lead verification and testing activities. You'll manage team planning and coordination to deliver on technical performance, schedule, and cost, while contributing directly to code development and architecture. Requirements

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a Software Engineering or related field, with 9 years of relevant experience or Master's degree with 7+ year of relevant experience.
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as C, C++ or Python.
  • Experience with Agile practices.
  • Experience with Real Time Operating Systems.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a government DoD security clearance at the Secret level.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with cockpit, integrated avionics and mission system architectures, avionics, and sensor subsystems.
  • Experience with FACE technical standards for reusable software.
  • Experience with software product line development for reusable software.
  • Experience with development of software requirements and working collaboratively with software engineers in the design, development, and test of software.
  • Experience in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) – Preferably CAMEO.
  • Experience with Command-line and shell scripting proficiency, Git version control and Docker Containers, and Wireshark.
  • Experience building strong customer relationships.
  • Strong communication skills, able to translate technical strategies and challenges into verbal and visual presentations to be shared with senior management and senior customers contacts.
  • Proficiency in Real Time Operating Systems like VxWorks,
  • Experience with the design, integration and test of avionics systems and software operational programs.
  • Current active Secret security clearance desired

Responsibilities

  • Perform software development efforts on the FLRAA program
  • Integrate algorithms and features into C/C++ applications
  • Design, develop, test, and debug safety- and mission-critical avionics software
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on software/hardware interfaces
  • Support documentation, error correction, and performance validation
  • Guide certification activities and compliance with safety regulations
