About The Position

Become a part of something IMPACT-ful! Ground Missile Defense (GMD) is the heart of the Missile Defense System and a key element of our nation’s defense against ballistic missile attacks. The GMD Weapon System (GWS) processes data from multiple sensors to identify and characterize the inbound ballistic missile threat, plans the best defensive solution, and launches the intercepting missiles to negate the threat. The Work The Software Integrator Engineer supports the integration, testing, and sustainment of software solutions across Ground Midcourse Defense Weapon System (GWS) platforms. This role works closely with software developers, systems engineers, test teams, and cybersecurity partners to help ensure software components function together as intended and meet program requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and 5 years of related experience, or a Master's Degree and 3 years of related experience, or PhD and 1 year of experience.
  • Previous experience with integration of separate software components into a single system
  • Experience with Windows and Linux system administration
  • Experience writing installation manuals
  • Develop scripts in Bash, C Shell, Python and work within the Atlassian toolset (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket, GIT, Jenkins and Artifactory)
  • A current active in-scope U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance is required to start.

Nice To Haves

  • Candidate must have, or be able to develop, in depth expertise in the GSS Launch Management Systems concept of operations and user interface
  • Experience with Ansible Automation Platform, including Ansible Tower
  • Familiarity with Java and object oriented development
  • Ability to read and troubleshoot application source code, ASCII logs and XML logs
  • Ability to perform basic SQL operations in a MySQL environment
  • CompTIA Security+ (or equivalent) DoD 8570.01M IAT Level II – Certification

Responsibilities

  • Support integration of software components across subsystems in development and test environments
  • Assist with software builds, configuration, and release activities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve integration issues
  • Support execution of integration and system-level test events
  • Review interface definitions and system documentation to support integration activities
  • Document integration procedures, issues, and resolutions
  • Follow established program processes, configuration management, and quality standards
  • Attain/Maintain Security+ certification and continuation education training requirements for a privileged user account
  • Support daily Scrum meetings
