Generating and simulating operational level plans to explore the art of the possible, how we could defend the ultimate high ground in a future space war Dynamically optimizing both terrestrial and space-based sensors to provide comprehensive space domain awareness Strategically optimizing the placement and maneuvering of constellations of satellites to satisfy multiple, evolving priorities Our team leverages industry standard open-source software solutions such as GitLab, Kubernetes and Docker. Our automation-first and "everything as code" mindset allows our software engineers to focus their time and efforts on what is most important - building cutting edge functionality for our end users. You will have the opportunity to be a full-stack developer working on both front-end (JavaScript) and back-end (Java) software, as well as, developing automated tests (unit tests, service level tests, and end-to-end tests) to ensure high quality software that is built into our continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines.

Requirements

  • Software development experience with object-oriented programming languages such as Java and JavaScript (Node.js)
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment, using tools such as GitLab, SharePoint, Jira and Confluence
  • Experience with application containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, etc.) in a cloud environment (e.g., AWS, Azure, OpenStack, OpenShift, etc.)
  • US Citizenship Required: No clearance required to start, but the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Recent on-program experience in software engineering
  • Experience working on large-scale software projects with multiple teams and stakeholders
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work in a collaborative environment
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
  • Strong time management skills that enable on-time project delivery
  • Experience with software version control tools, such as GIT
  • Experience with CI/CD (e.g., deployment pipelines, automated build, configuration tools, etc.)
  • Knowledge of database management systems, such as PostgreSQL or MySQL
  • Experience with API design and development, such as RESTful APIs
  • Development experience with Linux and shell scripting (e.g., bash, ash, ksh)
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with the Space Domain
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance
