About The Position

Markon is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to support the Fort Meade Customer. This role supports a mission-critical effort to extend customer sensor and data processing capabilities across both unclassified and classified environments. The Software Engineer will lead complex integration activities, support cloud migrations, and design data flow solutions that enable secure, scalable, and reliable operations. This position offers potential telework of 1–2 days per week, based on program needs.

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph with this Customer.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline plus 14 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience supporting application migration to cloud environments.
  • Strong experience with cloud-based data solutions, preferably AWS and Azure.
  • Strong understanding of data transformation and data flow management, including hands-on experience with NiFi.
  • Working knowledge of programming and scripting languages such as Java, Python, and JavaScript.
  • Experience with container technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a complex, mission-focused environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support the migration and integration of applications into cloud environments, ensuring alignment with customer data types, protocols, and security policies.
  • Design and implement data transformation pre-processors and data flow pipelines, leveraging NiFi and related technologies.
  • Integrate and sustain cloud-based data solutions, with a focus on AWS and Azure platforms.
  • Develop and maintain integration scripts and services using languages such as Java, Python, and JavaScript.
  • Support containerized application deployments using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Coordinate integration activities across classified and unclassified environments, ensuring data integrity and security.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams, operators, and stakeholders to support end-to-end system integration.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve integration, data flow, and deployment issues across environments.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, integration artifacts, and configuration guidance.
  • Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders to support integration planning and execution.
