About The Position

The Software Engineer – Journeyman Level supports the Army National Guard (ARNG) by delivering full‑stack software development for G4 Logistics functional area applications. This includes Property Book, Supply Chain, and other mission‑critical logistics systems. The engineer develops front‑end interfaces, back‑end data services, workflows, reporting modules, and processing logic to support readiness, accountability, and supply chain operations. The role executes testing and deployment tasks in alignment with Army and contractual requirements, while ensuring adherence to SDLC and cybersecurity standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of enterprise IT experience with hands‑on software engineering responsibilities.
  • Proficiency in full‑stack development using modern frontend and backend frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of relational databases, APIs, and data integration patterns.
  • Ability to implement workflows, business logic, and reporting features.
  • Experience with SDLC methodologies, testing procedures, and version control tools.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to collaborate in agile, structured, and requirements‑driven environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Cloud development experience (AWS, Azure, or similar).
  • CompTIA Security+ or other DoD 8570‑aligned certifications.
  • Experience with logistics systems such as Property Book, Supply Chain, GCSS‑Army, or related Army/DoD logistics applications.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and DevOps practices.
  • Knowledge of Army data standards, cybersecurity requirements, and enterprise architectures.

Responsibilities

  • Perform full‑stack development for ARNG G4 Logistics applications, including Property Book and Supply Chain systems.
  • Develop frontend interfaces and backend data services supporting logistics workflows and data processing.
  • Implement workflows, reporting modules, processing logic, and functional enhancements to logistics applications.
  • Execute testing, validation, and deployment activities per Army and contract requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to SDLC processes, secure development standards, and configuration management requirements.
  • Collaborate with logistics SMEs, analysts, and development teams to ensure functional accuracy and system quality.
  • Support troubleshooting, code optimization, and ongoing enhancement of logistics applications.
