About The Position

ABOUT THE TEAM Frontier Systems is where new products are born. We incubate and deploy AI-native systems across air, ground, maritime, and space. By working hand-in-hand with elite teams in Perception, AI, Motion Planning, Hardware, Networking, and Design, we craft cutting-edge, end-to-end systems that redefine mission success. We are seeking Software Engineering Interns for Summer 2026 in Irvine, CA! You’ll work in one of two focus areas based on your strengths and interests: (1) Full-Stack / UI to build the interfaces operators use to control autonomous systems, (2) Perception / Robotics to build the systems that interpret the world: tracking objects, modeling environments, and powering autonomy. EXAMPLES OF WHAT YOU’LL DO Build semantic world models that fuse sensor data into a persistent 3D scene in real-time Build terrain rendering systems used in live operations (viewsheds, classifications) Create interactive 3D UI panels to visualize friendly and hostile assets Interns routinely ship features to deployed systems within their first few weeks.

Requirements

• Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Computer/Software Engineering, Robotics, Mathematics, Physics, or any related field.
• Demonstrated ability to build projects from 0 → 1
• Proficiency in a variety of programming languages such as Rust, C/C++, Go, or Typescript.
• U.S. Person status is required as this position needs to access export controlled data.

Responsibilities
