About The Position

Nectar is an all-in-one employee recognition and culture platform that helps companies celebrate wins, strengthen connections, and reinforce core values. The company is seeking a Software Engineer to join their team and contribute to shipping meaningful features across the full stack, encompassing backend services, frontend, and all intermediate layers of the product.

Requirements

  • Practical experience coding with LLM tools (plan mode, agentic workflows, prompt engineering).
  • Understanding where LLMs accelerate your work and where they fall short (hallucinations, context limits, and knowing when to trust the output and when to override it).
  • Strong Node.js and Express.js experience.
  • PostgreSQL — writing efficient queries, indexing, and schema design.
  • RESTful API design and integration with third-party APIs.
  • Backend security awareness and familiarity with penetration testing concepts.
  • Unit and integration testing.
  • Proficiency with Vue, Typescript, and SCSS.
  • Strong JavaScript/Typescript fundamentals.
  • Experience with Nuxt.js.
  • Understanding of responsive design, CSS custom properties.
  • Exposure to DevOps practices — CI/CD pipelines, deployment, monitoring, or infrastructure basics.

Responsibilities

  • Writing, reviewing, and shipping code using LLM tools as a core part of your workflow, including prompting effectively, evaluating generated output critically, and owning every line that goes into production.
  • Building, testing, and maintaining RESTful APIs and backend services.
  • Writing and optimizing PostgreSQL queries for performance and reliability.
  • Implementing layouts, styling, and UI components with attention to responsive design and CSS architecture.
  • Managing frontend navigation, tracking, and data flow between views.
  • Contributing to PWA capabilities including service worker configuration, caching strategies, and offline behavior.
  • Writing clear documentation, maintaining organized codebases, and participating in code reviews.
