We are looking for a Software Engineer with embedded development experience to join our Advanced Products and Solutions (APS) team at Raytheon in Fort Wayne IN. Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience in programming languages such as C++ and Python.
  • Experience DevSecOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and secure software development methodologies.
  • Experience with software development life cycles, including Agile methodologies.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • Active and existing security clearance required after day 1

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with real-time embedded systems or aerospace/defense applications.
  • Exposure to Open Systems Architectures and modular design principles.
  • Exposure to cybersecurity principles and secure coding practices.
  • Experience with version control tools such as Git.
  • Experience with software testing and debugging tools.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain software for aerospace and defense applications, ensuring robust functionality and reliability.
  • Analyze and translate system requirements into software specifications and designs.
  • Implement, test, and debug software solutions to ensure compliance with project requirements and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with systems engineering, hardware engineering, and other teams to ensure seamless integration and optimal system performance.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing procedures, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance software quality and development processes.
  • Document software designs, test results, and troubleshooting processes for future reference.
