About The Position

Cox Automotive is searching for Software Engineer II Cox Automotive is a leading provider of automotive products and services, offering a wide range of solutions to dealers, manufacturers, and consumers. This is a 6 Month W2 contract assignment with the opportunity for contract extension or to transition to a permanent, full-time role based on performance and business needs.

Requirements

Strong professional experience in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) using C#.
Comfortable with .NET Core/6+ and building modern, scalable backend applications.
Practical experience developing within the AWS ecosystem (e.g., Lambda, DynamoDB, RDS, SQS).
Understanding of deploying and managing services in a cloud-native environment.
Proven ability to build robust Web APIs and interact with both relational and non-relational databases.
Knowledge of data modeling, indexing, and query optimization.
High level of proficiency in performing technical peer reviews.
Ability to provide constructive feedback and maintain code quality across the team.
Ability to articulate complex technical requirements to a diverse audience, including architects, PMs, and challenging personality types.
Target years of experience: 1-3.
Must be USC/GC only.
Candidate should be based out of Draper, UT with flexible onsite schedule (2-3 days a week).

Nice To Haves

Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Node.js for automation, utility scripts, or rapid prototyping (nice to have).
Experience defining and managing AWS resources via Terraform (nice to have).
Familiarity with CI/CD pipeline workflows and tools like GitHub Actions (nice to have).
Experience with unit and integration testing using frameworks like xUnit or Moq (nice to have).
"Test-first" mindset to ensure code reliability.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain backend services using C# and the .NET framework.
Design and optimize RESTful APIs and database schemas within AWS.
Actively participate in and lead technical code reviews, ensuring adherence to best practices and performance standards.
Collaborate with Architects and Project Managers to clarify technical constraints and project requirements.
Bridge the gap between technical complexity and stakeholder needs through clear, professional communication.
