About The Position

Cox Automotive is searching for Software Engineer II Cox Automotive is a leading provider of automotive products and services, offering a wide range of solutions to dealers, manufacturers, and consumers. This is a 6 Month W2 contract assignment with the opportunity for contract extension or to transition to a permanent, full-time role based on performance and business needs.

Requirements

  • Strong professional experience in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) using C#.
  • Comfortable with .NET Core/6+ and building modern, scalable backend applications.
  • Practical experience developing within the AWS ecosystem (e.g., Lambda, DynamoDB, RDS, SQS).
  • Understanding of deploying and managing services in a cloud-native environment.
  • Proven ability to build robust Web APIs and interact with both relational and non-relational databases.
  • Knowledge of data modeling, indexing, and query optimization.
  • High level of proficiency in performing technical peer reviews.
  • Ability to provide constructive feedback and maintain code quality across the team.
  • Ability to articulate complex technical requirements to a diverse audience, including architects, PMs, and challenging personality types.
  • Target years of experience: 1-3.
  • Must be USC/GC only.
  • Candidate should be based out of Draper, UT with flexible onsite schedule (2-3 days a week).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Node.js for automation, utility scripts, or rapid prototyping (nice to have).
  • Experience defining and managing AWS resources via Terraform (nice to have).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipeline workflows and tools like GitHub Actions (nice to have).
  • Experience with unit and integration testing using frameworks like xUnit or Moq (nice to have).
  • "Test-first" mindset to ensure code reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain backend services using C# and the .NET framework.
  • Design and optimize RESTful APIs and database schemas within AWS.
  • Actively participate in and lead technical code reviews, ensuring adherence to best practices and performance standards.
  • Collaborate with Architects and Project Managers to clarify technical constraints and project requirements.
  • Bridge the gap between technical complexity and stakeholder needs through clear, professional communication.
