We are seeking a Software Engineer II to join Raytheon Vision Systems (RVS), a world leader in state-of-the-art focal plane and camera products. At RVS, you will join a team of engineers and scientists who are creating the industry’s most advanced visible, infrared, multispectral, hyperspectral, and LADAR sensors and camera solutions. Our cutting-edge products are used in a wide range of air, ground, and space applications, in both the commercial and defense markets. This is an onsite role in Goleta, CA.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering Science, or a related technical field and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience in software development using C/C++, C#, Java, or Python, with a knowledge of object‑oriented methodologies.
  • Integration of firmware, software, hardware, and programming in LabVIEW and/or MATLAB.
  • MATLAB programming and work in integration, verification, validation testing, and/or product transition to production.

Nice To Haves

  • Coding with hardware interfaces such as Serial I/O and Ethernet.
  • Use of software oriented diagnostic tools such as profilers and debuggers.
  • Use of hardware oriented diagnostic tools such as oscilloscopes and Wireshark.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with multi‑disciplinary teams to support military and commercial programs using industry standard and in-house tools and development processes.
  • Contribute to the design and development of hardware test frameworks.
  • Support integration efforts involving firmware and test hardware.
  • Perform validation activities to ensure customer specifications are accurately met.
  • Generate formal documentation, including Version Descriptions and Validation Documents.
  • Install, deploy, and provide instructional support for automated test software.
  • Provide troubleshooting and requirements support for integrating and operating new state‑of-the-art imaging hardware.
  • Manage accountability and tracking for cost, schedule, and technical performance metrics.
