About The Position

We are seeking a Software Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of our map data editing tools. This position focuses primarily on frontend development, building intuitive, high-performance interfaces that support complex geospatial data workflows. We value engineers with a strong sense of curiosity - people who enjoy digging into how systems work, exploring user needs, and identifying opportunities for better tools and workflows. You will collaborate closely with product managers, operations, front and backend engineers to deliver impactful tools and user experiences.

Requirements

  • BA in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript and familiarity with modern frontend frameworks and tooling.
  • Understanding of UI/UX principles and component-based architecture.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be based within commuting distance of Lebanon, New Hampshire

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with geospatial technologies.
  • Familiarity with backend APIs (REST or GraphQL).
  • Experience optimizing frontend performance.
  • Knowledge of design systems, accessibility standards, or data visualization tools.
  • Experience with modern build systems, testing frameworks, and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and enhance frontend components for the map data editing application using JavaScript and modern UI frameworks.
  • Translate product requirements and design concepts into functional, user-friendly interfaces.
  • Contribute to architectural and design discussions with a focus on frontend scalability and performance.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
  • Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and sprint rituals.
  • Support team best practices for frontend development and overall engineering quality.
  • Assist in diagnosing and resolving production issues.
