The Strategic Defense Solutions (SDS) portfolio is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Software Engineer professional to join our team in Sterling, VA. In this critical role, you will be part of an innovative team focused on designing and developing software solutions, directly ensuring our customers are prepared for the most vital missions. This position is located onsite at our Sterling, VA site.

Requirements

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field
Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements
Experience in Software Engineering including working all phases of the software development lifecycle in an agile environment
Experience with Software development using C/C++, Python

Nice To Haves

Experience with DevSecOps (Docker, Containerization, Pipelines, Kubernetes)
Experience with Software Simulation
Knowledge of IP networking
Working knowledge of Radio Frequency (RF) concepts, Communication Systems, Aircraft systems and Avionics

Responsibilities

Participate on collaborative, cross-disciplined integrated product teams, often employing agile software development techniques
Responsible for the full lifecycle of product development, from architecture and design, through integration, test, and field support
Work and learn the highest software engineering process maturity level as recognized by the Software Engineering Institute
