About The Position

Cox Automotive is looking for an early‑career engineer who is curious, collaborative, and eager to learn. If you’ve built meaningful coursework projects, capstones, hackathon apps, internships, or open‑source contributions, you’ll feel right at home. You’ll ship code in a supportive environment with mentorship, modern tooling, and an agile delivery rhythm. What you’ll do: Design, build, and maintain features and services for customer‑facing or platform capabilities. Write clear, testable code; add unit/integration tests; participate in code reviews; and help debug production issues with guidance. Collaborate with Product, Design, and fellow Engineers in agile ceremonies (backlog refinement, planning, daily stand‑ups, demos, retros). Document your work and share learnings with the team; contribute to continuous improvement of our engineering practices. Learn our cloud platform and delivery pipelines; ship small, safe increments frequently. Who You Are: Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as 4 years’ experience in a related field. Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., TypeScript/JavaScript, Python, Java, C#, Go, etc.). Foundational knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and HTTP/web services. Familiarity with Git/GitHub and basic CI/CD concepts; experience running unit tests locally. Exposure to cloud concepts (IaaS/PaaS, REST APIs, containers, serverless) from coursework or hands‑on projects. Preferred qualifications: Academic or internship experience with AWS (e.g., Lambda, API Gateway, S3, DynamoDB, CloudWatch, RDS, IAM basics). Project or internship experience using TypeScript (Node.js/React) and/or Python (API or data service). Experience building and calling RESTful APIs; basic understanding of testing frameworks (Jest, PyTest, etc.). Familiarity with infrastructure‑as‑code (Terraform/CDK), containers (Docker), or observability tools (logs/metrics/traces). Exposure to Artificial Intelligence–assisted coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Amazon CodeWhisperer, or similar) as a plus — especially usage in academic projects or personal learning. Exposure to agile/scrum and working in a team setting (stand‑ups, PR reviews, story estimation). Technologies you’ll touch here (varies by team) Languages: TypeScript/JavaScript, Python (others welcome) Cloud: AWS (serverless and containerized workloads) APIs & Data: REST/JSON, relational/NoSQL databases Dev Experience: GitHub, CI/CD, automated testing
