Job SummaryThe Software Engineer I is an entry level engineering role focused on designing, configuring, and implementing solutions on the ServiceNow platform under direct supervision. This position supports the delivery, operation, and continuous improvement of enterprise workflows and digital services using ServiceNow modules such as ITSM and related platform capabilities.Job Duties & Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Basic knowledge of the ServiceNow platform architecture and core modules, including IT Service Management (ITSM)
  • Foundational understanding of Agile and Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) concepts (e.g., requirements, build, test, deploy, and iterative delivery)
  • Basic understanding of scripting concepts, preferably JavaScript, within a platform environment
  • Familiarity with workflow automation and low‑code/no‑code development concepts
  • Basic understanding of data structures, relational tables, and system configurations
  • Ability to identify issues, analyze information, and assist in developing and implementing solutions
  • Basic understanding of system security concepts such as roles, permissions, and access control
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, with co-workers, customers and external contacts
  • Minimum: High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum: 0 - 2 years related work experience

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree - from accredited university - IT, MIS, Computer Science or related field
  • Preferred: Exposure to ServiceNow through academic projects, internships, certifications (CSA preferred), or on‑the‑job experience

Responsibilities

  • Supports the design, configuration, and implementation of ServiceNow applications, workflows, and services in alignment with defined requirements
  • Builds and maintains ServiceNow components such as catalog items, workflows, Flow Designer automations, business rules, client scripts, and UI policies
  • Supports configuration and maintenance of core ServiceNow data structures including tables, fields, forms, and relationships
  • Troubleshoots and resolves ServiceNow platform issues using established procedures and best practices
  • Assists with the development and support of integrations between ServiceNow and external systems using standard interfaces (e.g., REST, APIs, SOAP, etc.)
  • Maintains awareness of new and emerging ServiceNow platform capabilities, automation features, and industry best practices to help enhance solution delivery and drive incremental improvements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
