About The Position

The Factory Enablement & Support organization is seeking an early career/entry level Software Engineer to join a team working on support applications related to SMART factory initiatives. The right applicant will have a foundation in software development and an interest in learning and contributing to all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). This will include requirements decomposition, design, software development, user training, implementation and support. The position focuses on full-stack development of applications for manufacturing workflows that include data extraction, processing and provision for use in front-end tools. The work also includes the development of applications for multiple platforms with a variety of backend sources and databases. This position will work extensively with internal customers, including leadership in the fulfillment of its day-to-day activities.

Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree and 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships).
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

Nice To Haves

  • Experience or familiarity with C# or Java programming languages.
  • Working knowledge in one or more of the following areas: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery and Razor.
  • Working knowledge of Integrated Development Environments such as MS Visual Studio and VS Code.
  • Familiarity with implementing best practices of software development on small to medium scale projects.
  • Working knowledge of SQL, .NET, Git or other source of control framework, MVVM or MVC frameworks, XAML, Ignition

Responsibilities

  • Working with cross-functional teams.
  • Building and maintaining software applications.
  • Developing intuitive User Interfaces (UI).
  • Creating unit tests for applications code.
  • Participating in writing and/or reviewing software requirements, specifications and design artifacts and system/user level documentation.
  • Participating in testing and code reviews.
  • Responsibility for compliance with software standards and conventions.
