Software Engineer I
About The Position
Cadence Design Systems is seeking a highly motivated Software Engineer I to join its R&D staff, focusing on the Innovus product. Innovus is a comprehensive digital implementation solution covering physical design and logic synthesis. This role involves contributing to innovative technologies for leadership in this domain. The position requires expertise in areas such as placement, routing, optimization, logic synthesis, extraction, static timing, and power analysis. Key responsibilities include designing, developing, troubleshooting, debugging, and supporting the Innovus product. The successful candidate will apply physical design and synthesis domain knowledge, coupled with strong data exploration and analysis skills, to identify critical optimization needs and develop algorithms to meet customer requirements. Requirements
- MS in Computer Science or Engineering
- Strong analysis and problem solving skills
- Strong ability to learn quickly
- Excellent programming and software engineering skills, especially C/C++ and UNIX platforms
- Proficient in Tcl
- Physical design and synthesis domain knowledge on how each engine and what roles it plays in the digital implementation flows
- Strong data exploration and data analysis skills
Nice To Haves
- PhD in Computer Science or Engineering
- Prior experience with large software development projects
Responsibilities
- Designing, developing, troubleshooting, debugging and supporting the Innovus product
- Applying physical design and synthesis domain knowledge on how each engine and what roles it plays in the digital implementation flows
- Utilizing strong data exploration and data analysis skills to find out the most critical optimization needs in the flow
- Creating plan and/or high-level algorithms to solve optimization needs to meet critical customer needs
