About The Position

As a Software Engineer, part of the Cox Automotive family, you apply secure software engineering principles to the design, development, testing, maintenance, and evaluation of software and cloud infrastructure. This role collaborates closely with teammates to understand business requirements, contribute to architectural discussions, and deliver scalable, resilient, and secure systems. It also incorporates the responsible use of AI-assisted development tools to streamline coding, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation activities across the SDLC. The position emphasizes strong software craftsmanship, continuous improvement, and effective collaboration within the Digital contracting workstream. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as 4 years’ experience in a related field
  • Requires strong knowledge of AWS
  • Excellent presentation skills to work effectively with teams throughout organization
  • Solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals and object-oriented programming.
  • Requires strong knowledge of one modern programming language (python, JavaScript, etc.)
  • Curiosity and eagerness to learn new tools, frameworks, and technologies.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills to work effectively with teams throughout organization
  • Accelerate development of high quality products and features by leveraging AI

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to cloud platforms (especially AWS) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Interest in AI/ML and how it can enhance software development.
  • Experience with Git and agile development practices.
  • Understanding of APIs, web services, or microservices.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborating with experienced engineers and product teams to build scalable, secure, and user-friendly applications.
  • Writing clean, efficient code in languages like Java, Python, or TypeScript .
  • Leveraging AWS Cloud to build modern, resilient systems.
  • Using AI tools like GitHub Copilot to boost your productivity and creativity.
  • Participating in code reviews, testing, and continuous integration/deployment.
  • Learning and growing every day in a supportive, fast-paced environment.
