Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a full-time Early Career Software Engineer. In this role you will: Contribute in the design, implementation, testing, and maintaining of object-oriented software applications using Java, C++, Python, and/or Bash. Participate in the entire software development lifecycle including requirements, design, implementation, integration, installation and test. Support SBIRS Program modernization efforts geared toward achieving greater efficiency, and usability. Collaborate with an enthusiastic team of software, systems, and test engineers using the Agile Development methodology. Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math or Physics, or related field
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Experience coding with C++, Python, Bash, and/or Java.
  • Knowledge of data structures
  • Ability to travel locally (up to 10%)
  • Must have an interim secret security clearance prior to start
  • Must be a US Citizen

Nice To Haves

  • Scrum, Kanban or other methodologies and/or understanding of Agile development concepts
  • 1 or more years of software experience
  • CI/CD: Git lab familiarity or experience
  • Ability to design software solutions to address complex problems
  • Willingness to work with a geographically distributed team
  • Experience integrating software components via machine-to-machine interfaces (e.g., RTOS, Embedded Systems)
  • Experience with test automation and continuous integration and deployment
  • Strong background developing / debugging and/or testing
