At Sierra, we’re creating a platform to help businesses build better, more human customer experiences with AI. We are primarily an in-person company based in San Francisco, with growing offices in Atlanta, New York, London, France, Singapore, and Japan. We are guided by a set of values that are at the core of our actions and define our culture: Trust, Customer Obsession, Craftsmanship, Intensity, and Family. These values are the foundation of our work, and we are committed to upholding them in everything we do. Our co-founders are Bret Taylor and Clay Bavor. Bret currently serves as Board Chair of OpenAI. Previously, he was co-CEO of Salesforce (which had acquired the company he founded, Quip) and CTO of Facebook. Bret was also one of Google's earliest product managers and co-creator of Google Maps. Before founding Sierra, Clay spent 18 years at Google, where he most recently led Google Labs. Earlier, he started and led Google’s AR/VR effort, Project Starline, and Google Lens. Before that, Clay led the product and design teams for Google Workspace. Sierra’s engineering team has ~40 mostly senior engineers, including Mihai, Belinda, Arya, and Wei. We work in small, autonomous teams oriented around customer problems. In this role, your customer is our Sales Engineering and GTM team—and, through them, every prospect who meets Sierra for the first time. Here are some examples of what you’ll work on: Own Sierra’s demo platform: Design and build the systems that power our demo environments— multi-tenant “mock orgs,” seeded data, configuration, and guardrails that make demos reliable, fast, and safe. Build first-class demo features into Agent Studio and the core product: Create UI and workflows so SEs can spin up, reset, and manage tailored demo accounts in minutes—not hours—without calling an engineer. Use AI to personalize and prepare demos: Leverage Sierra’s own agent stack (and other models) to research prospects, synthesize realistic org structures, conversations, and data, and auto-configure agents and flows for specific industries and use cases. Expose “under the hood” views for SEs and prospects: Add thoughtful panels, timelines, and visualizations that make it easy to show how Sierra thinks, decides, and integrates—without overwhelming the UI or leaking sensitive details. Build internal tools that let SEs move like engineers: Create templates, libraries, and scripting hooks that let SEs compose complex demo scenarios and edge cases with guardrails instead of raw access to production systems. Instrument and iterate: Track how demo flows perform (time to “aha”, win rates by template, setup time per SE), and use that data to drive your roadmap alongside Sales Engineering, Product, and Agent Studio. Ship real production code: Everything you build should be robust enough to live in the main product—tested, observable, and maintainable, not a separate demo toy that rots over time.
