As a Software Engineer at CMT, you will be responsible for collaboratively delivering technical solutions to the heart of our state-of-the-art telematics pipeline. You will design, develop, and execute new features and improvements, continuously improving our codebase while working with peer teams. CMT is looking for a collaborative, customer-committed, and creative Software Engineer I, Backend who wants to join us in making roads safer by making drivers better!

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience and/or certification in Computer Science or related field
• Ability to learn quickly and solve complex problems
• Ability to collaborate in a team environment
• Ability to do general development tasks on Linux
• Some professional engineering experience preferred
• Experience and exposure with some or all of the following: Python, Javascript (NodeJS), any language with transferable skills
• AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, SNS, SQS
• Creating, maintaining: CI/CD pipelines
• Containerization technologies (specifically Docker)
• Developing web applications (RESTful HTTP backend)

Responsibilities

• Make contributions to the team using proper software development procedures and method
• Assist in solving complex problems and transform them into business solutions
• Participate in code and design reviews
• Full stack design and development with a focus on maintainability, usability, scalability and performance
• Design, implement, and maintain automated tests for telematics solutions, ensuring safe delivery of features and fixes
• Help analyze and translate business and functional specifications and change requests into technical specifications
• Provide required support for occasional production issues
• Follow the company’s development and operational standards and processes
• Complete any additional tasks as they arise
