About The Position

At Regions, the Software Engineer oversees application development, modification, and maintenance of applications. This position monitors system applications, ensures systems run smoothly, and creates reports and other documentation outlining findings/solutions. This position sits within Regions' Technology department.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field
  • Five (5) years of experience
  • Ability to collaborate with programmers, developers, and other technology professionals to achieve a common objective
  • Ability to conduct system analysis to detect issues with performance
  • Ability to develop and implement technology solutions to resolve technical challenges
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Knowledge of software testing techniques, code optimization and software debugging
  • Strong communication, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong executional capabilities
  • Thorough understanding of software structures, hardware, computing systems and how to integrate them
  • 5 years RSA Archer administration in production
  • 5 years Windows and SQL Server experience
  • Experience supporting on prem Archer enterprise applications across multiple environments
  • Strong knowledge of: Archer access controls (users, groups, roles, record permissions)
  • Application configuration, workflows, questionnaires, calculations
  • Archer upgrades, patching, troubleshooting
  • Familiar collaborating with DBA teams for SQL support
  • Comfortable with T SQL and understanding Archer database structure
  • Able to build services using Archer API for configuration and data updates
  • Applicants for this position must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
  • This position is intended to be onsite, now or in the near future.
  • This position must be within a reasonable driving distance to Birmingham, AL, Atlanta, GA or Charlotte, NC.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees development and installation of new hardware and software
  • Installs and configures systems and other software
  • Tests installed software for malfunction detection
  • Identifies and resolves business systems issues
  • Designs and deploys new applications and enhancements to existing applications, software, and operation systems
  • Measures effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems
  • Develops and implements strategies to improve systems
  • Maintains full ownership of a process typically
  • May act as a procedural expert
  • May lead the work of junior level associates
  • Administer and maintain Archer across multiple environments
  • Configure and support applications, workflows, questionnaires, calculations, fields, and dashboards
  • Design, prototype, and develop solutions including workflows, questionnaires, calculations, data models, and access controls
  • Perform Archer patching, upgrades, and hotfixes, including pre‑upgrade validation, coordination of downtime, and post‑upgrade testing.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot Archer services, jobs, and platform health; engage vendor support when required.
  • Promote configurations using Archer packaging under change control
  • Support data feeds and integrations at the platform layer
  • Administer Windows Server systems hosting Archer
  • Perform server configuration, hardening, patching, and lifecycle tasks
  • Manage dependencies including Active Directory, DNS, certificates, Windows services, tasks
  • Participate in a two week on call rotation
  • Coordinate with SQL teams on performance, maintenance, and platform reliability
  • Demonstrate flexibility in learning new technologies, completing required training, and providing support for enterprise platforms.
