About The Position

Core4ce is recruiting a Software Engineer 4 to serve as a senior technical contributor and leader on complex, high-stakes software development programs supporting the U.S. Government. In this role, you will apply advanced engineering knowledge to design, develop, and implement sophisticated software solutions tailored to unique government requirements. You will mentor and direct junior engineers, lead projects from concept through delivery, and serve as a key technical interface with government clients — all while working on programs with real mission impact. You will work on-site at the National Air and Space Intelligence Center (NASIC) — one of the nation's premier intelligence production centers — located at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio. NASIC sits at the forefront of air, space, and cyberspace intelligence analysis, and your contributions will directly inform decisions at the highest levels of the U.S. defense and intelligence enterprise. This position is designed to be flexible, with responsibilities evolving to meet business needs and enable individual growth.

Requirements

  • Active Top Secret/SCI
  • Designing, developing, and deploying Cloud-native applications in complex, mission-critical environments
  • Implementing and managing Event-Driven Architectures (EDA) at enterprise scale
  • Building secure software solutions grounded in industry security best practices and frameworks
  • Practical experience and demonstrated proficiency in software development using the Scrum framework
  • Design and implementation of modern, intuitive User Interfaces (UI)
  • Master's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Technology plus 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Technology plus 14+ years of relevant experience

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced Certified ScrumMaster (A-CSM) or equivalent advanced Scrum certification
  • Relevant Scrum developer certifications (e.g., CSD, ASD) with demonstrated skills and hands-on experience
  • Kubernetes certifications (CKA — Certified Kubernetes Administrator; CKAD — Certified Kubernetes Application Developer)

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical direction and mentorship to junior and mid-level software engineers, elevating team performance and code quality.
  • Apply advanced knowledge across Engineering, Computer Science, and Information Technology to design, develop, and implement complex software systems.
  • Exercise initiative and independent judgment on technically challenging assignments requiring creative problem-solving and innovative engineering approaches.
  • Develop software solutions uniquely tailored to meet specific Government needs, requirements, and operational constraints.
  • Function as Project Leader when required, including direct interfacing with Government clients and stakeholders to define requirements, communicate progress, and deliver results.
  • Prepare and generate high-quality technical reports, documentation, and other program artifacts pertinent to the position and contract requirements.
