Summary of Position Jabil Design Services is seeking an Automation Intern to work with the Product Validation team. The intern will assist the Austin, Texas site with automation to expedite validation testing. He or she will also work with the global team to implement, review and maintain automation scripts. The internship will present the opportunity to become familiar with networking, network address translation, server hardware, server firmware and operating systems. Web development and graphical automation opportunities will also be available.

Requirements

  • Major(s): Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineer, IT or similar
  • Class Year(s): Rising Junior, Rising Senior
  • GPA: Min 3.0
  • Technical Skills: Experience with Python or similar
  • Working knowledge of Linux operating systems
  • Knowledge of networking concepts
  • Familiarity with Jenkins, DevOPs, Git or Selenium
  • Effective Communication, Self-starter – Ability to drive work
  • Leadership Skills: Agility, Building Trusting Relationships, Decision Making Skills, & Resilience
  • Availability: Must be available to work in Austin, Texas from May 18, 2026– Aug 7, 2026.

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of BIOS or BMC preferred
  • Experience with webpage design desired

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements/procedures and translate them into technical specifications
  • Develop robust automation to implement test cases or procedures
  • Write high-quality, maintainable code.
  • Conduct unit and integration testing
  • Participate in code reviews
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues and challenges during development
  • Communicate status
  • Create user documentation
