Worldwide Sustainability Technology (WWST) is the central technology
organization in Sustainability. Our vision is to build solutions that enable

integrate, and make accessible, science-based facts, sustainability metrics and
messaging into all aspects of Amazon’s business. Our solutions enable other
Amazon teams to accelerate the execution of work to meet our sustainability
goals, including Amazon’s public goals and commitments.

The Sustainability Technology team is looking for Software Development Engineer
who is passionate about creating new products, features, and services from
scratch while managing ambiguity and the pace of a company where development
cycles are measured in weeks, not years.

Requirements

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
• 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience
• 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Nice To Haves

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with experienced cross-disciplinary Amazonians to conceive, design, and bring innovative products and services to market.
• Design and build innovative technologies in a large distributed computing environment and help lead fundamental changes in the industry.
• Create solutions to run predictions on distributed systems with exposure to innovative technologies at incredible scale and speed.
• Build distributed storage, index, and query systems that are scalable, fault-tolerant, low cost, and easy to manage/use.
• Design and code the right solutions starting with broadly defined problems.
• Work in an agile environment to deliver high-quality software.
