About The Position

The Boeing Company is looking for a Software Development Engineer (Associate, Experienced, or Senior Level ) to join the B-52 Software Blocks (BSB) team located in Oklahoma City, OK. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization. The software block process focuses on performing corrective, adaptive, and perfective maintenance on fielded B-52 software. Our team is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including: Associate, Experienced, and Senior Engineers. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in software development utilizing Java, C++, or Ada 95
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in developing and deploying software programs
  • 2+ years of experience writing and testing software
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance for which the US Government requires U.S. Citizenship.
  • Ability to obtain Secret U.S. Security clearance (Post-Start).

  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • Provides technical leadership for software projects and leads software supplier management activities

Responsibilities

  • Designs, develops, tests, and maintains non-embedded software throughout the end-to-end lifecycle that meets industry, customer, safety, and regulation standards
  • Develop and maintain code, integrating software components into a fully functional system
  • Collaborate on software verification plans, test procedures, and test environments
  • Execute test procedures and document results to ensure software system requirements are met
  • Reviews, analyzes, and translates customer requirements into initial design of software products
  • Develops, maintains, enhances and optimizes software products and functionalities for systems integrations
  • Develops, documents and maintains architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software products
  • Debugs and resolves issues identified to ensure the reliability and efficiency of software products
  • Handles user inquiries, troubleshoots technical issues and user feedback analysis
  • Implements current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks and changes in regulations relevant to software development
  • Develops, establishes, monitors and improves software processes, tools and key performance metrics that align projects with organizational goals and industry benchmarks
  • Executes and documents software research and development projects
  • Advises on software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulations
  • Performs software project management activities and software supplier management functions
  • Tracks and evaluates software team and supplier performance to ensure product and process compliance to project plans and industry standards
